TERRALHA, EUROPEAN CERAMIC ARTS FESTIVAL
Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie is the capital of ceramics! In this internationally renowned village of potters, the Terralha Festival, organized by the Cultural Office since 1984, returns from July 12 to 14, 2024 ! The village of pottery tradition then takes on the colors of Europe, earth and fire with a course around ceramics.
The objective of this festival? To introduce the “Terralha” (literally “earth container”) to an audience made up of both amateurs and enthusiasts!
The festival focuses more particularly on European ceramics: its ambition is to “bring together the different forms of artistic and cultural expression present in Europe in terms of ceramics”.
GO MEET THE ARTISTS
For the occasion, around twenty European artists carefully selected are invited to exhibit their works throughout the alleys, courtyards and gardens of the village.
To meet them, don't hesitate to open the doors of shaded courtyards or vaulted spaces to discover unusual ceramic worlds. You will be able to admire their creations and also exchange with them in order to better understand their techniques and know-how.
It is a real artistic journey who awaits you during this festival, which has established itself over the years as a unmissable event for ceramic art in Europe !
And Terralha doesn’t stop there! Participatory workshops and introductions to pottery, artistic performances, film screenings, exhibitions at Mediterranean Pottery Museum and Terra Viva Gallery, meetings, are also organized throughout the festival.
