However, we all know the expression that "all roads lead to Rome" and in our case, I would rather say that all roads lead to Pont du Gard.
Whether you come from Switzerland, Andalusia or Greece, be sure that your journeys will undoubtedly take you to this majestic UNESCO site.
The Pont du Gard greenway: Uzès-Beaucaire section
La Pont du Gard greenway is probably the essential route to the heart of the destination! This greenway immerses you in the heart of history with the majestic site of Pont du Gard, UNESCO World Heritage and the Cities of Art and History ofUzes and Beaucaire.
This 31 km route is the longest greenway in Gard, and was born from the redevelopment of an old railway line! By taking this route, you meander between vineyards and scrubland, near characterful villages with authentic charm. Between nature, swimming and an unusual tunnel, this walk is ideal for a family outing.
It is thanks to this cycle path that you can travel all around the destination. Beyond that, you cross many landscapes, and even some borders.
The Via Rhôna: Avignon-Beaucaire section via Aramon
La Via Rhona is a European route, which runs from the shores of Lake Geneva to the beaches of the Mediterranean by bike, following the Rhône River!
Travel through more than 2 years of history, through the 000 km of this route. You enjoy iconic landscapes, from alpine panoramas to beaches of Camargue passing through the heart of Provence.
You will cross the Destination Pays d'Uzès Pont du Gard, thanks to the section Avignon – Beaucaire. Passing through Aramon, take the opportunity to discover the villages of Théziers, Montfrin and Comps.
And I told you previously, all roads lead to the Pont du Gard... So you have the option of taking the Pont du Gard greenway to visit this Roman jewel, which is only a few kilometers away!
EuroVélo 8: the Mediterranean by bike
Did you know that it is possible to cycle from Cádiz, Spain, to Athens, Greece, and even to Cyprus? L'EuroVelo 8 is a 7 km route which takes you to discover 600 UNESCO sites and makes you visit no less than 23 countries (Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece , Turkey and Cyprus). Between sea, beaches, and ancient cities, this route is the trip of a lifetime for cycling enthusiasts!
In France, this 850 km route, from Perthus to Menton, crosses our beautiful department of Gard. And it also, as you will have understood, connects Beaucaire to the UNESCO site of Pont du Gard via the Pont du Gard greenway!
