Surprising walk where you will discover clay peaks shaped by erosion offering a spectacle of shapes and colors where particular fauna and flora have taken root. Not recommended after rain as the terrain is slippery.

Description
The Fosses de Fournès form a lunar landscape with very strong geological particularity. It is a privileged site for the fauna and flora that live there. Kermes oaks, wild lavender, rosemary mix with the clay landscape.
The old clay quarry extends with a slight difference in height which continues to take you up and down. Developed slopes are there to make your stroll easier. The landscape has something fascinating and will take you from the Moon to the Gardon, via the vineyards.

From the Grand Rue car park in the village of Fournès, turn left towards the Town Hall.
Walk along the stadium then pass the cemetery.
Follow the Théziers road then turn left at the Parefeuille factory.
Take the path for 1km then turn left towards Fosses de Fournès
On the way you will encounter peaks ten to thirty meters high, the highest of which is called “La Mourre de Pitaraçon”.
Then continue towards Fournès via Les Escarpettes.
Turn left towards the Fontaine de Nocquet, then left to reach the village.
You will pass in front of the cooperative cellar to reach the Grand rue car park.
