Lovely shady family hike which offers magnificent panoramas of the surrounding cliffs. You will discover the hermitage cave dating from the Neolithic period and the Romanesque chapel of Notre-Dame de Laval dating from the 12th century.

It is not recommended to go there after heavy rain because the path crosses the path of a stream several times which you will have to cross from time to time.

Description

From the market square car park in Collias, cross the Collias bridge and pass the Maison du Castor.
Turn left at the sign “Le Grand Devois” and follow the yellow markings. Then, for approximately 600m, you will follow the Gardon on the right bank to arrive at the sign “le Cantadu”.
Take the left path (stone cross) towards the Hermitage for 1,7km.
You will arrive at the site of the hermitage cave and the Romanesque chapel of Notre-Dame de Laval.*
Then take the track on the right towards Collias and “Contadu” for 2km. Then continue on the main path following the yellow markings.
You find the path taken at the start of the hike.

* Possibility of a variant via the large loop (12.2km / 4h15)
At the “Grand greenhouse” sign, turn left and follow the path for 3.1km (yellow markings).

At the “Caunèze” sign, take the path on the left and follow the path for 1.9km.

Continue right. At the sign “la Torte” continue straight for 3.8km to reach the village of Collias.
