Eric Hengl – The Fabulous
April 1 to November 1, 2025

Visual artist based in Gard in 2000. Eric Hengl works in painting, ceramics and video.
"I try to keep a balance between these three disciplines so that they can interact. Their combinations have led me to create installations, to intervene in nature, such as the exhibition "Art on the Arre" in Vigan or "The journey around the lake" in Massillargues-Atuech."

2019: Installation in Amsterdam “The Spirit of the Canal”
2013: Land-Art Exhibition “Journey around the lake” Massillargues-Atuech
2008: Artistic collective of a “large format” workshop
2006: Exhibition and film “Salinelles in situ”, Salinelles chapel in collaboration with other artists
Alongside these activities, Eric Hengl makes video films, particularly portraits of artists.

In 2008-2009: Editing of Anne Bataï’s film “The Belly of the Earth” with Seyni Camara, a woman and sculptor from Casamance in Senegal.

Eric Hengl will present his series of terracotta at the Jardin Médiéval d'Uzès throughout the opening season from April 1 to November 1, 2025.
Two groups will be installed in the gardens: “Head under the stars” and “The Fabulous”. The third group, “The Giants with feet of clay”, created for the venue, will be presented in the Bishop’s Tower (chapel). Around forty pieces will be presented for this exhibition.
These sculptures are made of clay-paper, a technique which makes them easier to produce, without breaking during firing, and allows for the creation of large pieces.
