Exposition – De la Fleur à la Graine – AsPib
Thursday May 22
Jardin Médiéval et ses Tours impasse Port Royal 30700 Uzès
The Association of Botanical Illustration Enthusiasts (AsPIB) will hang a little over thirty works of contemporary botanical illustrations on the theme of "From Flower to Seed" during this exhibition in the Medieval Garden of Uzès.
The Association of Botanical Illustration Enthusiasts (AsPIB) was created in Lyon in December 2018 by Dominique Delattre, Geneviève Haigler and Marie Malissen who wish to develop various activities around botanical and naturalist illustration.
The objectives of the association are as follows:
– Provide support to people showing an interest in botanical and naturalist art
– Promote public interest in botanical and naturalistic art
– Encourage, support, stimulate and improve botanical and naturalistic art
With this in mind, the association offers courses led by high-level professionals such as, for example, Anne-Marie Evans, a world-renowned teacher, or Catherine Watters, a French-American artist and teacher.
The AsPIB is participating in exhibitions such as the one on the theme of seeds at the Allard Museum in Montbrison in 2023.
2023 also sees the launch, in collaboration with the Lyon Herbarium, of the Florilège Roland Bonaparte Jardin disparu de Saint-Cloud.
In November 2024, our first meeting days will be held in Lyon in partnership with the Lyon Herbarium and the Lyon Botanical Garden.
>> AT THE MEDIEVAL GARDEN OF UZES:
From May 22 to June 29, 2025, for its exhibition at the Medieval Garden of Uzès, the AsPIB will hang a little over thirty works on the theme "From Flower to Seed" and more broadly all types of plant multiplication (bulb, rhizome, stolon, etc.).
The public will be able to discover and admire examples of contemporary botanical illustrations which provide an analytical and rigorous look at the representation of plants while allowing the artistic sensitivity specific to each artist to shine through.
The magnificent setting of the Medieval Garden of Uzès lends itself particularly well to this style of exhibition.
