A respectable woman
1h43- Drama – Bernard Emond – 2023
Trois-Rivières, 1930s. Rose Lemay, a woman in her forties, has been living separately from her husband Paul-Émile for over eleven years. She lives alone in the large bourgeois house left to her by her parents. She leads an austere existence, lives in seclusion and is involved in charitable works.
One day, her family's notary and her parish priest visit her. Mrs. Lemay's husband, who had been exiled in the United States for ten years, has returned to Trois-Rivières with his common-law wife and their three little girls. Paul-Émile has met with the notary and is asking for a meeting with his wife. Rose's first instinct is to refuse. But the priest assures her that Paul-Émile is repentant, that he is in difficulty and that he needs comfort. Rose replies that she will never take her husband back. The priest retorts that there is no question of Mr. Lemay leaving his partner and children: he is only asking for a meeting and wants to be forgiven.

1h30 – Dominic Leclerc
How can we be firm and empathetic at the same time? Are the limits of freedom palpable? And how can we find them in a school setting? At what age do social classes become tangible? These are all questions that run through this chronicle full of tenderness and emotion of the participatory artistic experience led in 2017 by actor Alexandre Castonguay with students from an elementary school in Rouyn-Noranda. By having them work on Jean de La Fontaine's Le Loup et le Chien, under the attentive camera of Dominic Leclerc, he reveals their surprising reflections as much as he reveals himself.
