10ème Festival Biennale de la Photographie des Azimutés

For their 10th edition, Les Azimutés are putting photography in the spotlight with 18 photographers on the theme of "Witness of his time, transmitter of memory" and the Festival will take place in different locations in the city on a freely accessible route.
At the end of the 2023 edition, the association decided to offer the public a biennial festival which will be held in May 2025 for its next event: a large-scale festival which would take place in different locations in the city.
The theme adopted for 2025 is entitled: “Witness of his time, transmitter of memory”

“Witness of his time, transmitter of memory”
At the end of the 2023 edition during which the work of the "Bal des Rejetons" was received with great success, the association decided to offer the public a biennial festival: a large-scale festival for this 10th anniversary that will take place in different locations in the city in a freely accessible route. The theme adopted is entitled "Witness of his time, passer of memory" and is part of the continuation of the events set up in 2024 to lead us towards the biennial.
In the context of this theme, the competition aims to explore the questions:
of memory, which includes personal and collective memories;
identity that can be explored through portraits, cultural representations or stories;
of otherness that explores perspectives beyond one's own experiences;
informational which may include capturing current events, social issues or historical narratives;
and transmission which involves how images communicate narratives, emotions or messages across time and space.
The theme chosen for the Biennale therefore encourages photographers to highlight the way in which photography can serve as a witness to contemporary society while preserving and transmitting memories and identities.
The Uzès Photography Biennale will highlight the role of the photographer, the meaning of his work, his place in a world saturated with information and images, the limits of photography and its strength.
Dates: The Uzès Photography Biennale will take place from Saturday May 24 to Saturday May 31, 2025. The opening is scheduled for Saturday May 24, 2025 in the late morning.
