Magnificent and wild site, the Fosses of Fournès offer atypical and lunar landscapes, made up of peaks shaped by erosion.

The arid landscape, dug in places with pits and basins, seems unreal: there we encounter peaks 10 to 30 meters high, the highest of which is called La Mourre de Pitaraçon. Their slopes are engraved with furrows. A rich and varied Mediterranean flora takes refuge there: oaks, lavender, thyme, rosemary…

The clays present on this site allowed the village of Fournès to develop a terracotta industry, which is still present today.
