The scrubland loop

Between vineyards and scrubland, this bike route in Pays d'Uzès will charm you with its scents, colors and panoramas. At the start of Halles of Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, the circuit takes us to Vallabrix through the vineyards.
Very quickly, the Brugas career in the background can be discovered, the ideal place for a break
contemplative. Open your eyes when you take the path through the undergrowth, you will be able to
see capitelles, these dry stone shelters typical of the region.

Enjoy the village of Valabrix to take a break at the foot of the church or discover the media library with Renaissance facade. When leaving the village, I advise you to take a trip to the wash house, Chemin de la Fontaine.

Next stage of the Boucle de la Garrigue: Capelle-et-Masmolène and its pondg classified area
Natura 2000. You get there via the hamlet of Masmolène. For the more curious, take a small detour to see the ruins of the keep and the XNUMXth century Romanesque chapel.

Through a landscape of scrubland and orchards you will gradually reach flow. Not to
miss: the church of Flaux, the wash house, and the Black cedar of Lebanon in the cemetery (small detour necessary).

This portion of dirt road can be complicated during heavy rains. After leaving Flaux,
take advantage of the last moments to admire the landscape before returning to Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie.

First stop: Sanilhac-Sagries, two villages 3 km apart. Don't forget to admire the Château de Sanilhac (private) or stop at La Maison de La Réserve Naturelle which will welcome you from April.

On the road to Collias, a whole new landscape awaits you: the ocher cliffs which line the road constitute a pretty photo spot. If Collias is known for its leisure activities in the heart of the Gardon gorges, the village center is also worth the detour. When it comes out, take the time to admire the superb point of view on the bridge, the Saint-Vincent Church and the Gardon.

After Collias, head towards Pont du Gard. The loop will take you through the Bégude Saint-Pierre, a former coaching inn converted into a hotel restaurant and the Chapelle Saint-Pierre.

museum spaces
. The exit is via the right bank, towards the heart of the village of
Remoulins.

After Remoulins, you have the choice of continuing to Castillon-du-Gard, or taking the alternative and going directly to Vers-Pont-du-Gard. I recommend that you follow the path and visit Castillon, the village with its medieval streets and its panorama of the Pont du Gard are essential.

The vineyard loop by bike

Rich in flavors and encounters, this bike route takes you to the discovery of a wine region and a very rich natural and historical heritage.
The route begins at aramon, endowed with a beautiful heritage, extremely well preserved. The village itself is worth a visit. To find out the essentials, head to our article “The must-sees in Aramon”.

If you decide to venture directly onto the Vigne à Vélo circuit, you will quickly come across the road to Montfrin, marked by the footprints of the Templars. The Montfrin castle dominates the village. For a magnificent view of the latter, turn to the orientation table.

Between Montfrin and Théziers, the next village on the route, you will be immersed in a landscape of
vines and rockery, which I find similar to the Alpilles. The arrival in Théziers will leave you speechless
gaped. This perched village offers lovely views of the surrounding area. When you leave it, turn around, the view of the Saint-Amant Chapel is superb.

You will then arrive little by little at Domazan which is part of its neighbors Estézargues, Rochefort du Gard and Saze of the AOP Côtes de Rhône Signargues. You are also on the Côtes du Rhône Tourist Route. The village of Domazan is distinguished by its sales cellars in its center where the producers will give you a warm welcome.
Estezargues. Its church, its walkway and its active wash house reveal a
feeling of peace in the village.

From Serviers, take the direction of Aubussargues and its 10th century castle visible from along the road. In the village of collorgues, don't miss the prehistoric slab, where you can discover superbly preserved traces of mammals 35 to 40 million years old.

After the pretty village of Foissac, a nice climb to go to Marignac awaits you; but
courage… it’s worth it! At the end is the reward: a exceptional panorama of the Cévennes. The descent is just as beautiful, through the olive fields you will see the towers of Uzès in the distance.

Aigaliers is an opportunity to take a refreshing break. The particularity of the village? Its 9 wash houses, and yes
just that ! To visit them, however, you will have to deviate a little from the route.
On the return to Serviers, pay attention to the dirt road between Fousssarges and Labaume.

A loop that should please history buffs and foodies with many remarkable heritage elements and oil mills along the route.
From kiss you and after a few pedal strokes, you will be able to discover an educational layout around the theme of the aqueduct, a mosaic fresco and an old waterwheel.

Then head towards Cabrières, pretty little village in the heart of the scrubland. Once you arrive in Lédenon, the municipal park invites you to take a picnic break. When you leave, raise your head and you will have a superb view of the Lédenon castle. If you want to go there, prepare your calves because it is a very sporty climb that awaits you.

Through the scrubland, then reach the village of Saint-Bonnet-du-Gard and its Romanesque church
fortified. After passing the railway line and taking the Voie Verte du Pont du Gard, we advise you to take the “Vestiges of the Aqueduct” variant which will take you in the direction of authentic remains of the aqueduct.

To do this, leave the greenway and following the signs, go up towards the Vallon d'Escaunes in Cantarelles. The Le Vallon d'Escaunes association is working on the development of this magnificent site crossed by the Roman aqueduct in the town of Sernhac.
